Legendary footballer Lionel Messi has expressed his desire to break away from the Barcelona Football Club. However, the Spanish football club said that it does not want to talk about the departure of the star striker before his contract is completed.
According to Spanish media, Messi contacted the club for talks but Barcelona on Saturday said that it would not hold any talks to allow the Argentine superstar to split before the contract expires next year.
Messi said that this week he wanted to leave the club at the end of the season. He had said that there is such a provision in his contract, although the club says that the term of that provision is over.
If Messi stumbles upon leaving the club, then a long legal battle is likely. Barcelona is not willing to leave this player and not for free. Messi’s agreement is as of June 2021, with a sale or the provision of $ 83 million. He has been with the club for over two decades and has won him three dozen titles.
